Credit Bureaus In Canada

Here are the two major credit bureaus for consumers in Canada.
There is a third credit bureau Experian, who entered Canadian market briefly but exited in April 2009 due to the subprime crisis. By now Experian has not returned to Canada.

You can request your credit report from them ... actually you should before you apply a major credit facility such as mortgage. That way you can make sure there is no error in your credit report that could damage your possibility to get the loan approved.

$40 Rebate for MBNA Platinum Card

If you are applying for a credit card now, I recommend you to apply for MBNA Platinum Card via GreatCanadianRebates.

Features of this credit card:
-    No annual fee
-    Annual interest rate 17.99%
-    Promotional cash advance and balance transfer rate of 1.99% in the first 4 months, with effective term up to 10 months

Here is another feature that is very important … actually that is the main reason I recommend it: once you make the 1st purchase with this card, GreatCanadianRebates will give you $40 rebate!

You can choose to receive the payment via check or PayPal.

From here you can enter GreatCanadianRebates. Then select the menu item of “Credit Cards & Insurance” on the left.

GreatCanadianRebates offers similar promotions for other credit cards. I personally like this MBNA one, but you can certainly choose any other card you like. The rebates they offer are all around $40.

One thing to mention is that, GreatCanadianRebates will ask you to register an account with email. The registration process is pretty easy and they give you $2 for just opening an account!

GreatCanadianRebates also offers a lot of rebates for different merchandise. Just check it out yourself then. Enjoy!
